CARE TIP:
These are beautifully made from natural wood, with a layer of non-toxic varnish to repel water. If you wish to preserve the beautiful wood finish in good condition, avoid using it with strong dish/laundry soaps. Avoid leaving dishes sitting in water for long periods of time. To keep your soaps dry, remove excess water and soap from between the grooves.
NOTE:
Household dish/laundry soap contains strong concentrations of cleaning ingredients that will break down oil and varnishes efficiently. If you still wish to use a wooden dish for your household cleaning soaps, this dish is still functional and will reveal the beautiful natural wood grain. Since it is made from solid beech wood, it should be more durable than most. Some customers suggested alternating the use of 2 dishes to allow the other to dry completely. This will help extend the life of any kind of wooden dish. This dish has not been tested with commercial products.
